NMI investeert in nieuwe testapparatuur voor elektriciteitsmeters
Hieronder kunt u het uitgestuurde persbericht betreft de nieuwe aanschaf lezen. Wij zijn erg trots dat het NMi de apparatuur van ZERA via Imbema Controls heeft aangeschaft.
"Since many years, NMi is active in the field of type approval investigations for electricity meters. Especially since the introduction of the Measuring Instruments Directive (MID) in October 2006, the amount of work increased reasonably. Many manufacturers use NMi as Notified Body in order to show conformity with the MID. Up till now NMi issued more than 60 EC-type examination certificates for watt-hour meters.
The actual market for electricity meters is changing rapidly. The developments in smart metering challenge meter manufacturers to innovate quickly. A short time-to-market is essential. Therefore the passage time for the approval process has to be short as well.
One of the major items in the strategy of NMi is to arrange quick market access for manufacturers. In order to guarantee this NMi decided to invest in extra test equipment. Recently a new test bench is ordered at the company Imbema Controls in the Netherlands. Imbema Controls supplies amongst others ZERA products. With this ZERA equipment, which will be installed in December 2008, electricity meters can be investigated fully automatically at different rated operating conditions. By controlling the appertaining climatic chamber, the test bench can also perform measurements at different temperatures without any interventions of the operator.
Due to this extra equipment in the near future the test capacity increases, while type approval investigations can be performed in parallel. By this investment NMi continues to guarantee a short market access, now… and in the future!"
