Zamboni Ice resurfacing machines

The greatest fear of any ice master for speed skating rings is an ice surface that is not smooth and level. Factors influencing the quality of ice surfaces are the performance of the cooling installation and the stability of the ice-resurfacing machine. So as to be able to guarantee optimum stability, Zamboni produces the chassis of its machines in-house, making them so rigid as to almost entirely preclude torsion. Zamboni is the only manufacturer in the market to do this. The scraping part of the machine is mounted without play and the leaf springs are set so as to prevent vibration while simultaneously ensuring the required operating pressure. A specific feature of Zamboni resurfacers is the perfectly balanced distribution of weight among the wheels, which also contributes towards the machines’ optimum stability. Any imbalance in such a machine will of course mean that you don’t get the ice quality you want.
