In order to provide for our need of energy and water, worldwide we have developed and built an infrastructure for transport and distribution. Besides local systems for example for water and heat, we know several systems, which are transgressingly linked. We herewith especially think of the electricity and natural gas distribution network. The link of these systems has given an enormous beep to the international energy trade. When these facilities are lost, society will be drastically crippled; that is why we have integrated operating and measuring systems in advanced management systems.

Gas distribution
In gas distribution we mostly think of natural gas distribution. Like many other gases natural gas is an explosive, which can only be safely transported and consumed when treated with respect to its properties. We use natural gas in many variations of production processes, electricity production, but also to heat our homes.
All variations do not only have specific requirements when it comes to safe using, but also for transportation and measuring of the supplied quantity. Imbema Controls offers a complete range of products for this large variety of applications with regard to arranging and measuring of (explosive) gases. Specifically developed for intended applications like:
* leak search and gas detection devices
* high and low pressure regulators and control systems
* various measuring principles to register large - medium and small consumptions, like smart meters, bellow gas meter, rotary gas meter and turbine gas meter.
In The Netherlands the meter code gas is the valid target line, but all meters are according to the latest national and
international standards and guide lines like PED, ATEX and MID
* volume conversion devices (VCD), or also called E-VCD, for temperature or pressure and temperature, battery or externally powered, if necessary provided with internal data logger and communication systems
* data collection and meter data management systems.
Systems primarily intended to give you more insight in consumption and where necessary process adjustment by means of a Meter Data management system.
Electricity distribution
Electricity distribution is to spread electrical energy from the transportation system to the final consumers, like houses - office buildings and factories. Herewith voltages are converted in several steps to the ultimately required level. Hereby we can think of transformer, distribution and switch yard stations and other necessary provisions. Installations and devices used are under continuous monitoring to maintain a safe and reliable energy network. Imbema Controls B.V. supplies innovative solutions for primary and secondary installations, data collection and smart meters for the various levels within the electricity distribution products like calibration and test devices for energy measurements. The portable calibration and test devices are especially used to calibrate and check electricity meters and measuring system as per the Kema meter pool and electricity measuring code.
In smart meters (AMR smart metering) the developments keep fast track. From smart meters to an integrated total solution according to the MUC principle, whereby the MUC (Multi Utility Controller) is linked to the gas, water, heat and electricity meter. Another example of smart meters is the electricity meter provided with a radio module, whereby a home radio network is formed between the meters.
Besides the known kWh meters Imbema Controls can also supply the so-called power analyzers, by which the network quality as per EN50160 and the energy consumption are registered.
For heavy consumers the C+I is applied, whereby besides energy tariffs a load profile is recorded. The communication is done via GSM/GPRS network.
Water distribution
Water distribution: to us a most common thing. We shall be very surprised when there is no water from the tap. Water is indispensable as first human life need, as well as raw material for many production processes. Imbema Control is expanding her portfolio in this segment with only A-quality products.

Heat distribution
In the past heat distribution was limited to distribution to buildings or estates. With the entry of various plastics we are able to protect and insulate pipelines. Therefore, heat transportation over greater distances is now possible. The use of residual heat from production processes or central generated heat for district heating have been given new impulses. This type of energy is indispensable from our society.
Imbema Controls will advise and assist you with all questions you may have regarding this kind of energy supply, transportation and measurement. Logging the measured meter data and processing it in a meter data management system is a step towards a clear view of your energy consumption.
Energy & Water management
The basic provisions in residential estates, detached houses or even holiday parks are often done by several suppliers, each with her own specialty. Smart solutions can be realized with the new generation of wireless energy and water meters. By periodic reading of meter positions a view in consumption is obtained very effectively. The system can also reduce or shut down the consumption. To give you insight in the total energy management Imbema Controls' team will be gladly of service to you with specialists in any field.
For gas measurements in gas hazardous area's Zone 0, as determined in the ATEX guide lines, solutions are available to read gas consumption of gas meters as well as of the volume conversion devices (VDC or E-VDC) without having to read the external network voltage. The battery powered systems communicate via the GSM/GPRS network with the central post or make the data available via webservices on the internet.
Dataloggers vor gas and water are especially used to monitor the distribution network for a.o. pressure, flow, volume and temperature measurements.
